With Sympathy...

Hi, Friends!

I'd like to share with you two sympathy cards that I made recently.  The first card is to our friend, Rick.  His dear wife(our dear friend), Shelley, passed away a couple weeks ago.  She passed away on my husband's birthday.  Rick is so kind that he even thought of wishing my husband a happy birthday at the same time he told us of Shelley's passing.

We had plans to visit our son that evening to celebrate my husband's birthday.  Isn't it strange how life happens?  I thought about cancelling the plans, but thought Shelley wouldn't want it that way.  In fact, I guess life has a way of being bittersweet when you least expect it.  There are final good byes and there are celebrations at the same time.  Our son was so sweet and kind.  He took us to a very nice place for dinner.  It helped to ease our sadness.  Life does go on and now we help Rick through the difficult time.  Last week I made chocolate chip cookies for him and we dropped in for a quick visit.

Anyways, the cards below are fairly simple cards.  The first one is for Rick and the other is for his step-daughter, Melissa.

Rick has a boat and loves to fish, so I thought he would appreciate this card.

Melissa loves flowers, so I knew she would appreciate this card.

Both cards were made with water color using zig markers.  The stamp images are from Sweet 'n Sassy.

Ok, one more card.  I made many Easter cards and have mailed them out.  Here is one of my favorites...

For my card, I started with a yellow card base and  paired it with panels that were die cut using an MFT die.  The sentiment is from Sweet 'n Sassy.  I used alcohol inks for the background.  The crosses are stickers with gems added to the centers.  I may pop in again before the end of the week with more Easter cards that I made.  Wishing for you all a blessed Easter!  Take care!

Hugs!

  1. It's so unfortunate that you lost a good friend on your hubby's birthday but life just happens that way sadly. I love the sympathy card with the ship on the water - it's my favorite stamp for masculine sympathy cards and I love how you used it. The other cards are wonderful too, especially the Easter card! Take care

  2. I'm so sorry about your friend, Maria. I know you did so much for her and was sad when you couldn't visit her in the hospital. He will love this card since it is something he loves and Melissa will love these beautiful tulips. The Easter card is so pretty.

  7. So sorry for your loss. The cards are beautiful and you personalizing each one to the recipient is so thoughtful and special. The Easter card is fabulous, too.

A long time friend of my hubby’s parents suddenly passed away yesterday. I’ll be needing to make a sympathy card, so thank you for the inspiration.
